Islamic burials
Part of Oak Hill cemetery has been specially designed in partnership with the local Muslim community.
It provides burial spaces which comply with Islamic teachings. These graves are aligned perpendicular to the Qibla (Mecca).
We take every care to ensure burials are carried out carefully and respectfully and will always try to accommodate your needs:
- The deceased should always arrive in a casket or coffin.
- Suitable soil will be left at the side of the grave to allow symbolic rituals.
- Arrangements can be made should mourners wish to backfill by hand.
We ask that burial requests are submitted at least three working days before.
Unfortunately we cannot allow any person to enter a grave space.
