Our charity
Hearts for Herts
We are proud to support Hearts for Herts, a local charity dedicated to improving survival from cardiac arrest and traumatic injuries through education and access to lifesaving equipment.
Thanks to funding generated through the ICCM Metals Recycling Scheme, Oak Hill Lawn Cemetery and Crematorium has donated £17,000 to Hearts for Herts. This funding will provide 17 publicly accessible defibrillators at schools across Welwyn Hatfield, making them available to the wider community 24 hours a day, alongside new bleed control kits in areas identified as being most in need.
Hearts for Herts works across Hertfordshire to install and maintain public access defibrillators and bleed control kits while delivering free Heartstart Lifesaver training. These practical sessions give people the confidence to perform CPR, use a defibrillator, and provide emergency first aid until the emergency services arrive.
By combining lifesaving equipment with education, the charity is helping to create safer, more resilient communities and giving more people the best possible chance of survival in an emergency.
Supporting Hearts for Herts reflects our commitment to serving the communities of Welwyn Hatfield. Through the ICCM Metals Recycling Scheme, materials recovered following cremation are transformed into something that can make a lasting difference, creating a legacy that may one day help save a life.
