Maintenance overview

Our contractor, Continental Landscapes maintain the grounds at St Luke's and St Etheldreda's, they carry the duties below. St Thomas A Becket undertake their own grounds maintenance.

Sweeping and Litter Collection

This is checked weekly. Litter baskets should be maintained so that they are no more than half full. 

Every month, the litter baskets are properly cleared and the area surrounding it swept and cleared. 

Grave Maintenance

Maintenance of the grave space is the responsibility of the Grant Holder. The Council will maintain the grass so long as there is an uninterrupted area for mowing.

Grass cutting

Grass is cut 15 times a year, every two weeks between March and November.

Hedge Cutting and Maintenance

All hedges will be cut twice a year to reduce the tops and sides. 

The first cut is between June and July, and the second between September and October. 

Ornamental hedges are maintained to 3ft to 5ft in height and boundary hedges are maintained to 8ft to 10ft.
